Consolidated Book Publishers, Inc., 1941. Staplebound pamphlet. Very Good.

500 Tasty Sandwiches is one of a number of single subject pamphlets printed by the Culinary Arts Institute—a prolific cookbook publishing enterprise in the early- to mid-twentieth century responsible for The American Woman’s Cookbook (1938) and The United States Regional Cookbook (1939), among others.

It’s fair to say we didn’t know how many varieties of sandwiches we’d been missing out on until we saw this book.

There’s no shortage of inspiration for high tea or a sophisticated luncheon with numerous fillings and bite size presentations. But the grandiose showpieces will take your sandwich game to the next level. Whole loaves layered or stuffed, pinwheels, and even checkerboard sandwiches have us wondering how we as a society have strayed so far from greatness. A sandwich-lover’s dreamscape, for sure.

Ours is Very Good with general wear and minimal creasing. One inch tear to the front cover. Black and white photography throughout. 6” x 9”, 48 pages.
