A totally charming gift booklet, exquisitely designed and produced in about 1915 by the Buzza Company of Minneapolis. Buzza was known nationally for its cards, its wall plaques and other gift items, and was particularly admired for its fine production values.
This striking 48-page page book measures an unusual 4-1/4” x 9-1/2” and is printed in two-colors on an oatmeal-colored stock. It is bound with gold cord as well as saddle-wired. The front and inside covers are printed in gold and black on a heavy pinkish tan stock. The 95 recipes, marked by fanciful drawings in orange and black, range from clam bisque and baked mushrooms to iced chocolate and macaroon cake.
This quite good-looking copy is in Very Good condition—clean and uncreased both inside and out. A superb gift, more than a century old, perfect for use or simply to admire as a piece of the bookmaking craft.
