The Munich-based authors, an author and an art director, have chosen 125 cookbooks notable for their design or influence. It’s a funny list, yet absorbing and fascinating, and the full-color spreads devoted to showing the interiors of the books can certainly underscore many of their picks. Some were unknown to us, such as a 1955 book “approved by the Institute of Nutrition of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR.” A few seem just silly, but most of the books are definitely worth knowing.
