Fall is the crazy season for publishing, especially for food and drink books. This year we’ve been offered more than 500 titles for the season, including more than 200 for October alone. Of course, we’re not going to carry them all. Especially not 22 different Instant Pot books, or however many more there are. I’ll have something to say about that foolishness soon…
Here’s what we think stands out—for positive reasons—in domestic releases for Fall 2018. We have not seen finished copies of any of these books and we have advance reading copies of only some of them. (If you come to the store you can always look at the advance copies).
The books are here because we know the author’s work, or because we’ve sensed the excitement building among our customers, or because they’re addressing an unmet need of long standing. They’re not here because publishers are paying us placement fees to showcase them prominently, which is what happens at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
They are arranged in order of their publication dates.
