Cookbook Club Chef's Kitchen: Burns Night Cook-Along (a daytime class)
Date: Saturday, January 25, 2025
Time: 1:30 pm EST (approx. 90 minutes)
Place: Zoom
Join Chef Annette Tomei as she prepares a couple of traditional recipes to celebrate Scotland’s Burns Night, in anticipation of our March Cookbook Club’s featured cookbook, The Scottish Kitchen by Gary Maclean.
Annette will also share a wee bit of lore about Scotch whisky, beguile you with tales of haggis, and introduce other traditional dishes you may be less familiar with. Annette will also teach you to prepare a classic Scottish soup and essential Burns supper dessert, cranachan, from the recipe in our featured book.
What do you get with registration?
- A 90-minute live Zoom session in the kitchen with Chef Annette Tomei as she applies the perspective of a professional chef while deftly translating the tricks of her trade for the home cook.
- Prior to this session you’ll receive a list of tools, ingredients, and advance preparation instructions needed to participate. Don’t feel like cooking during the presentation? No problem! Watch and ask questions.
- You’ll receive a video recording that you can refer back to as you cook your way through on your own time.
- You’ll be part of a small, more intimate group, which gives Annette more time to answer your questions about techniques, ingredient selection, timing, menu planning, and more.
This class is free for annual members of the Cookbook Club; just let Chef Annette know you want to participate.
