Rouergue, 1991. Hardcover. Very Good Plus. First printing.

Much sought and seldom seen, Le Livre de Michel Bras (1991), written with Alain Boudier and Christian Millau, is Michel Bras’ (1946– ) first book.

It is at once a collection of colorful, exuberant dishes prepared with fresh produce and a celebration of Bras’ home village of Laguiole in Aveyron. Devoted to the land and inspired by its products, Bras honors quality ingredients before any other consideration in creating and presenting a dish.

From striking photographs of the region in all its seasons and an illustrated glossary of the plants that grow in his garden or in the wilds nearby to meticulous instructions on technique, Bras conveys the excitement that has won him such a devoted international following. We are very pleased to offer this prized book.

There was never an English translation, so it is available in French only.

Our copy, a first printing, is in superb condition. It is clean throughout, the binding tight, and the case and jacket both safely graded as Very Good Plus.
