Jack Stone Studio, 1990. Hardcover. Very Good Plus.

The Ultimate Mousse Cookbook (1990) is an odd one that won our hearts; we love its quirky charm. It is, plain and simple, a mousse cookbook of just 12 recipes, and, as we hope the image shows, it is die-cut in the shape of a red MOOSE.

There isn’t much more that we might say about this simple and straightforward cookbook. The mousse recipes include some appealing flavors like cappuccino, caramelized banana, pumpkin, eggnog, and bellini. The savory ones may be more of an acquired taste: broccoli-artichoke, tomato, salmon.

Ours is in Very Good Plus condition and never used. A very slight bump to the fore antler—expectable, we suppose, if you’re a 13-inch moose. For the eccentric in your life.
